Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of LaunchCut, a service run by the individuals behind LaunchCut ("we", "us", "our"). LaunchCut is not a registered company. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you use LaunchCut on behalf of a company, you confirm that you can bind it to these Terms.

1Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use LaunchCut.
  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your sign-in method secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • Each account is for one person. Do not share, sell or transfer it, and do not open several accounts to collect free credits.

2What LaunchCut does

LaunchCut makes videos from the descriptions, files and links you give us ("Inputs"). The videos it produces ("Videos") are generated automatically and may contain mistakes, including in scripts, translations, voice-over and on-screen text. Review every Video before you publish it.

We improve the service all the time, so features, styles, languages and processing times may change. We will tell you before we remove something you pay for.

3Credits, plans and payments

  • Videos are paid for with credits. The price of each Video is shown before you create it.
  • Plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Manage billing; your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Plan credits refill at the start of each billing period and do not roll over. Credits from credit packs do not expire while your account is open.
  • Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money, except where the law requires it.
  • Payments are processed by our payment partner, Creem, which acts as merchant of record and may add taxes based on where you are.
  • Refunds follow our Refunds and Credits Policy, which is part of these Terms.

4Your Inputs

You keep all rights to your Inputs. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process and adapt them only to provide LaunchCut to you, for example to make, revise, store and deliver your Videos.

You confirm that you have the rights needed for everything you upload or link to, including screenshots, logos, product names, music and images, and that using them in a Video will not break anyone else’s rights or any law.

Brand kits are built from the website you enter or the logo you upload. You confirm that you own or have permission to use the logos, fonts, colours and screens a kit holds, including any font you add by name, and you are responsible for that use in your Videos.

When you add a link to someone else’s post as a reference, we use it only to understand its style, such as pacing, layout and type. Do not ask us to copy someone else’s work, brand, characters or footage.

5Your Videos

As between you and us, you own the Videos you create, and you may use them for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, advertising and posting on any platform.

Videos may include music, fonts, voices and other elements that we license from third parties ("Licensed Elements"). You may use Licensed Elements only as part of the Video they appear in. Do not extract them, sell them or use them on their own.

Other people may receive similar Videos, especially when they use similar Inputs or styles. You do not get exclusive rights to a style, format or Licensed Element.

We will not publish your Videos or use them as public examples without your permission.

6Acceptable use

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms. We may refuse to make a Video, remove content, or suspend or close an account that breaks it.

You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer or try to extract the methods, prompts, models or source code behind LaunchCut, or use the service to build a competing product.

7Third-party platforms

When you post a Video on a social network, store or ad platform, that platform’s rules apply. You are responsible for following them, including rules about advertising and disclosing AI-generated content.

8Ending your account

You can stop using LaunchCut at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing hello@launchcut.co. Download any Videos you want to keep first.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if we must do so by law, or if your use puts other users or the service at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first. If we close your account without cause, we will refund unused credits you paid for.

9Disclaimers

LaunchCut is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that Videos will be accurate or achieve any result.

10Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about LaunchCut is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

11Indemnity

You agree to defend and compensate us against claims, losses and costs that arise from your Inputs, from how you use your Videos, or from your breach of these Terms.

12Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using LaunchCut after that, you accept the new Terms.

13Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts there, unless mandatory law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
